YUNO, a product of Langent Private Limited, respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. Throughout this document, references to “we”, “us”, or “our” refer to Langent Private Limited.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you access or use the YUNO Platform.
By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Who We Are and What This Covers
YUNO is built by Langent Private Limited, a company registered in India ("Langent", "we", "us", "our").
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data when you visit myyuno.com, reserve a YUNO Orbit, use the YUNO web app and AI companion, contact us, or (once shipped) use the YUNO Orbit wearable and its companion software.
We follow India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and its rules. For visitors outside India we also apply the core principles of the EU/UK GDPR: lawfulness, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, storage limitation and security.
2. Our Privacy Principles
- Collect the minimum we need, and say why we need it.
- Process on the device first wherever the product allows it.
- Never sell your personal data or use it for advertising profiles.
- Never use your recordings or conversations to train AI models without your explicit, separate permission.
- Give you clear controls to access, correct and delete your data.
3. Information We Collect
The data we collect depends on how you use YUNO.
3.1 When you reserve a Founding Orbit unit
Name for your founding card, email address, phone number (with country code), and optionally your city and state/region. Your email is confirmed with a one-time code before payment, and your reservation is linked to that email.
We also record the reservation details: quantity, deposit amount and currency, the Razorpay order and payment references, your marketing preference, and the time of reservation.
3.2 Payment information
Payments are processed by Razorpay. Card, UPI and bank details are entered directly with Razorpay and are never received or stored by us. We only receive the payment reference, amount, currency and status needed to confirm and, if requested, refund your deposit.
3.3 Account, app and AI companion data
If you sign in, we receive your name, email and profile picture from your sign-in provider (for example Google), or your email when you sign in with a one-time code.
When you use the YUNO AI companion, we process the messages you send, the companions you create and the memories the service keeps so it can respond in context. You can delete conversations and memories from within the app.
3.4 Data from YUNO Orbit (when it ships)
YUNO Orbit captures audio when you turn it on. Audio is processed to create transcripts, summaries and memories. We will describe exactly what is processed on the device, what (if anything) leaves it, and how long it is kept, before devices ship, and you will control recording and storage from the app.
You can delete a recording or conversation at any time; deleting it removes the associated transcript and stored audio.
3.5 Contact and feedback
When you contact us, we receive your name, email, phone (if given) and your message, and use them only to reply and improve YUNO.
3.6 Technical information
Basic technical data such as browser and device type, approximate location derived from IP address, pages visited and error logs, used to run, secure and improve the website. We use only essential cookies and storage (for example to keep you signed in or remember your reservation on this device). We do not use advertising cookies.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To create, confirm and manage your reservation, and to deliver your device.
- To take, confirm and refund payments, and to prevent fraud and duplicate or abusive reservations (for example our limit of 5 units per email).
- To provide the YUNO app, AI companion and device features you use.
- To send service messages (reservation confirmation, delivery and safety updates).
- To send news and founding-member invitations, only if you opted in. You can opt out at any time.
- To keep our services secure, meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and respond to lawful requests.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the DPDP Act we process personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you submit the reservation form or use our services, and for certain legitimate uses permitted by law, such as completing a transaction you requested and meeting legal obligations.
For users where the GDPR applies, the equivalent bases are: performance of a contract (your reservation or order), consent (marketing, optional data), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement) and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
You may withdraw consent at any time. This will not affect processing already carried out, and we may need to keep certain records where the law requires it.
6. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf and under contract, and only as needed:
- Supabase: database, email one-time codes and serverless functions
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud: website hosting and account sign-in
- Razorpay: payment processing and refunds
- Our email provider: sending confirmations and replies
- AI model providers used by the YUNO companion (such as Groq and OpenRouter): only the text needed to generate a reply
- Shipping and logistics partners: name, phone and address, when your device is ready to ship
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our users or the public from harm, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy will continue to protect your data.
7. How Long We Keep Data
- Reservation and payment records: for as long as your reservation or order is active, and then for the period required by Indian tax and accounting law.
- Account, companion and app data: until you delete it or close your account.
- Marketing preferences: until you opt out.
- Support messages: as long as needed to resolve your request and handle follow-ups.
When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
8. Where Data Is Processed
Some of our service providers store or process data outside India, for example in the United States or the European Union. Where this happens, we use providers with appropriate contractual and security safeguards and comply with any restrictions notified under the DPDP Act.
9. How We Protect Your Data
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encryption at rest with our infrastructure providers.
- Row-level access controls: reservation data cannot be read from the public website, and payment confirmation runs only on our servers.
- Secrets such as payment keys are kept in server-side secret storage and never exposed to your browser.
- Access to personal data is limited to people who need it.
No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
10. Your Rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it
- correct, complete or update it
- erase it, where we are not required to keep it
- withdraw consent, including for marketing
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of death or incapacity
Email contact@myyuno.com from the address linked to your account or reservation. We will respond within the time the law requires. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
11. Children
YUNO is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-Party Links
Our website links to services such as Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
13. Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy as YUNO evolves, in particular before the device ships. We will change the "Last Updated" date, and for material changes we will notify you by email or on the website before they take effect.
